Secluded Ibiza secret beach with turquoise waters and golden sands.

Crystal-clear waters, soft sands, and pure serenity—Ibiza’s secret beaches are waiting for you!

During my countless visits to Ibiza, I’ve discovered that this Mediterranean gem holds more secrets than its famous party scene might suggest. While most tourists flock to the well-known beaches with their bustling beach clubs and crowded shores, I’ve made it my mission to uncover the island’s hidden coastal treasures.

These secluded spots represent the authentic soul of Ibiza – pristine, untouched, and breathtakingly beautiful!

Away from the thumping beats and tourist masses, these secret beaches of Ibiza offer what I consider the true essence of island life. From the crystal-clear waters of Es Portixtol to the rugged beauty of Punta Galera, each hidden cove tells its own story. Some require adventurous hikes down unmarked paths, while others are tucked away behind residential areas, rewarding only those who dare to venture off the beaten path.

Let’s have a look at the secret beaches of Ibiza!

Port de ses Caletes

Very far to the north is one of the most remote, secret beaches on Ibiza that you can still actually drive to. As its name suggests, this was once one of Ibiza’s original natural ports, although nowadays it is home to some traditional fishing boat huts. Emerging through a forest of tall canes, you are met with an eye-wateringly pretty view of a semi-circular cove surrounded by excellent rocks to snorkel among.

Es Portitxol

A secret cove with turquoise waters and stunning cliffs—Es Portixol is pure Ibiza magic!

Another absolute beauty and a perfect natural harbour, this almost circular cove is entirely surrounded by cliffs. Accessible only by foot or boat, the long walk down to the beach from the parking is a pleasure, the walk back up on a hot day, less so… Nevertheless, one of Ibiza’s true gems is there to be discovered and possibly the best spot for a picnic you will ever find. Take plenty of water!

Cala d’en Serra

Tucked away in Ibiza’s north, Cala d’en Serra offers turquoise waters, golden sand, and total serenity.

A more easily accessible option is Cala d’en Serra. You might not call this a fully secret beach but most people don’t have a clue about this beautiful cove!

Very popular with the locals, there is usually parking available at the iconic, abandoned hotel. Once considered an eyesore, this crumbling edifice has since become a beloved landmark. The beach itself is great for swimming and there may even be a chiringuito open in high summer for a welcome beer.

Best reached by boat or a 4km hike, this hidden gem boasts clear turquoise waters and a small pebble beach fringed with beach huts and forest.

Park at the church of Es Cubells and admire the beautiful houses and spectacular views of the southern coastline and Formentera before picking up the trail down to the beach. Here it is so tranquil you can quietly reflect on life, write a book or a song and be mesmerised by the fishing boats bobbing away in the distance.

Cala Pluma

Nestled away from the crowds, Cala Pluma offers pristine sands and crystal-clear waters—a true Ibizan escape.

A little bit gay and a little bit nudist, Cala Pluma offers a peaceful and tranquil setting for visitors looking to escape the crowds of the island’s popular Salinas beach.

Very pretty, especially out of season when there are fewer people there, this secret beach is known for crystal-clear waters and spectacular rock formations surrounding its fine sand. Situated 200m from the pirate defence tower Torre de ses Portes, it is advisable to go early morning or sunset to avoid the worst of the heat.

What is the best time to visit secret beaches in Ibiza?

Generally speaking, Ibiza is at it’s best before and after summer. So for your next secret beach visit, I would suggest May or June and September or October. However, some of the beaches are so remote, you hardly find someone during the Summer Peak. Es Portixtol for example, is a long drive and walk from the busy streets of San Antoni so it’s always a good time to get there. You’ll see maybe 20 other people in this hidden cove.

Are secret beaches safe for swimming?

If you end up alone in one of the secluded coves and beaches, I’m sure you want to jump in the water to cool down. Especially since reaching them can take some effort. Generally, the secret beaches are safe to swim at, but you have to be careful since no lifeguards are on duty.

Another thing to be aware of, are the sea urchins on the rocks. They are only near the shoreline so once you’re further in the water you don’t have to worry anymore. They are black and easy to spot.

Secret beaches in Ibiza: give it a try!

There’s always another hidden cove on Ibiza, another secret beach or another untouched paradise waiting for those willing to go the extra mile. The secret beaches above aren’t just about escaping the crowds; they’re about rediscovering what Ibiza truly is: wild, free, and breathtakingly beautiful.

Whether you’re hiking down rugged trails, swimming in the clearest waters, or simply lying back with nothing but the sound of the waves, these spots remind us why this island has such a magical pull.

So go on, grab your towel, pack a little picnic, and explore Ibiza beyond the usual. Who knows? You might just find your own secret slice of paradise.
