Es Canar, or Es Caná in Catalan, is one of those spots that perfectly captures the quieter side of Ibiza. Situated on the island’s east coast, this charming resort is ideal for families and older visitors who are after a more laid-back vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind, far from the hustle and bustle of Ibiza’s party scene, but still with enough life to keep things interesting.
Set against a backdrop of pristine beaches and the sparkling Mediterranean, Es Canar offers the essence of relaxed island life. You’ve got the best of both worlds here—whether you’re looking to lounge by the sea all day or take a leisurely stroll through the local markets.
It’s small, it’s friendly, and it has that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to return again and again.
Es Canar location and how to get there
Es Canar is located in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu on the eastern coast of Ibiza. To get there, you’ll mainly use the PM-810 road, which connects Santa Eulària to the northern part of the island. From Ibiza Town, it’s about a 25-minute drive northeast along the PM-810. If you’re coming from San Antonio, the journey takes around 40 minutes, following the C-733 road to Santa Eulària and then connecting to the PM-810.
For those relying on public transport, Es Canar is well-served by buses. The L18 bus line from Santa Eulària takes you directly to Es Canar, while the L13 connects it with Ibiza Town. There’s also the L24, which links Es Canar to San Antonio during the summer season, making it fairly accessible no matter where you’re staying on the island.
