Es Cubells is located within the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, in the southwestern part of Ibiza. To reach this peaceful village, you’ll mainly use the PM-803 road, which is the island’s main route connecting Ibiza Town to Sant Josep. From Sant Josep, you’ll take a smaller, scenic road, PMV-803-1, that winds its way down to Es Cubells.
In terms of proximity, Es Cubells is about a 25-minute drive from Ibiza Town, around 20 minutes from San Antonio, and approximately 35 minutes from Santa Eulària. The village is a bit off the beaten path, the journey is well worth it for the stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. I like to go there in the busy months since it’s pretty quiet all year long.
If you’re relying on public transport, bus line L38 connects Sant Josep with Es Cubells, although service frequency can be limited, so it’s worth checking the timetable ahead of time, especially out of season. Otherwise, a Uber can be booked.

Starting from the Es Cubells Church Square Viewpoint, you are treated to panoramas from the cliffs where the village sits. This viewpoint, located just behind the church, offers sweeping vistas that are perfect for those iconic landscape photos for your Insta (or tiktok).
As you continue on the trail towards Cala Llentrisca, one of the next highlights is the viewpoint overlooking Es Niu de S’Aguila beach. This spot is picturesque, with the horizon beautifully framed by four reefs, making it a serene place to pause. For those up for more of a challenge, the climb to the Cape Llentrisca Viewpoint is a must. This part of the trail includes a steep ascent, but the reward is worth every step—a vantage point that offers extraordinary views of the Mediterranean Sea and the majestic Es Vedrà islet, one of Ibiza’s most iconic sights.
This route is also suitable for cyclists, and the back & forth will take about 2 hours. Expect some paved roads, lots of dirt and steep climbs.

Es Cubells Beach is a small, picturesque cove (I wouldn’t actually call it a beach) easily accessible from the village. With its crystal-clear waters and a backdrop of pine trees providing natural shade, it’s a lovely spot for swimming and sunbathing. Plus, there’s a restaurant nearby where you can enjoy a meal or a refreshing drink while soaking up the views.
If you’re willing to drive a little further, Cala Llentrisca is a remote beach that promises a more secluded and peaceful beach day. It takes a bit of a hike to get there, but the journey is worth it for the stunning cliffside scenery and the serene atmosphere. The clear waters make it an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling, providing a quiet escape from the more crowded beaches.

It’s not about wild parties or mega clubs but it’s all about the hush of the sea and star-filled skies. After a sunset that’ll make your heart ache (the views from the cliffside are great, have a picnic when it goes down!), the village slows down even more. Most folks head to one of the restaraunts for dinner and drinks.
