San Antonio, or Sant Antoni de Portmany, is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with Ibiza’s more playful side. It’s got that classic Balearic charm with a twist, where world-famous sunsets paint the sky in fiery hues as the sun dips behind the horizon, best viewed from the iconic Café del Mar or Mambo. And it’s not just about the sunsets – the whole bay is a sight to behold, with a lively harbour that buzzes with activity and a string of beaches that offer everything from relaxed sunbathing to water sports for the more adventurous.

Despite being the most budget-friendly town on the island, San Antonio is rapidly shaking off its old image and reinventing itself as a destination that’s aiming for a more upscale vibe. Yet, it still keeps its appeal for the legions of British tourists who flock to its bar-lined streets, where the nightlife spills out onto the pavement in a blur of neon lights, music, and laughter.

But don’t let that fool you – San Antonio is also the perfect base to explore the rest of Ibiza. It’s well-connected, with buses and boats that can whisk you away to other parts of the island, whether you’re craving the serene beauty of hidden coves or the bustling energy of Ibiza Town.
