Discover Ibiza's top spots by hopping on the island's convenient bus lines
Ever tried to flag down a bus at 3am outside Amnesia with your flip-flops in one hand and half a kebab in the other? No? Just me then. Either way, Ibiza’s bus system can be a total lifesaver if you know how to use it properly. And you’re in Spain so there are some pitfalls to keep in mind while waiting for your bus on Ibiza. Let me share you some (personal) tips and information about the 2025 bus lines!
First of all, in summer, Ibiza’s bus system really kicks into gear, way more so than in the quieter months. With tourists flooding in, the buses run more often to handle the crowds. But don’t count on them being perfectly on time. This is Ibiza, not Zurich.
Things run on island time, and delays aren’t exactly rare. If you’ve got somewhere important to be, like catching a ferry, meeting friends for lunch, or making it to that sunset yoga session, give yourself a little extra breathing room. You’ll thank yourself later.
- Timing
The buses generally run from early morning until late evening, but it’s always good to check the latest schedule, especially if you’re planning on a late night out. During the nights you can take the special discobus which goes to most of the well-known clubs. - Tickets
You can purchase tickets on the bus itself, and some lines offer day passes if you plan on hopping on and off. - Apps & Info
Download the ALSA bus app for real-time schedules and updates: Android and iOS
The app is pretty useful so if you’re going to rely on the bus to travel around, I recommend you to download it for sure.
Ibiza bus lines ticket prices

Bus fares in Ibiza are still one of the best bargains you’ll find on the island (aside from the free sunsets of course). Most daytime routes will set you back between €1.85 and €4.00 depending on the distance. The L10 line from the airport to Ibiza Town, for example, costs €3.50 so way cheaper than a taxi.
If you’re planning to hit the clubs, the Discobus (running from around midnight till 6am in high season) is a good option at roughly €3 to €4 per ride. That’s like a sip of a cocktail at UNVRS.
You can pay in cash directly to the driver, but try to carry small change, as they don’t always have much to give back. No contactless yet, so don’t flash your card like you’re in London, it won’t work.
Other tips when taking a public bus on Ibiza

I often get questions about this, so let me explain a few more things about public bus lines on Ibiza.
Ibiza’s buses are generally safe, but like any busy public space, keep an eye on your stuff, especially on packed routes like L3 or the Discobus. I always wear my backpack/laptop bag in front when it’s crowded and keep my valuables zipped in a front pocket. Better to look like a paranoid tourist than lose your phone.
You board through the front door (not the back door, it’s not the Undergrond) and pay the driver directly (in cash). Simple. Say your destination if you’re unsure about the fare and most drivers will help, though not all speak fluent English. Just be friendly and patient.
If you’re catching the Discobus at night, look for clearly marked stops outside clubs. They fill up fast, so if you’re with friends, agree on a meeting point beforehand because once that bus arrives, it’s a mad dash and the strongest one gets on the bus!
And just a polite notice: you can bring a drink or snack, but eating a full meal or playing your favourite tunes out loud is a no-go. Locals really frown on it, and some drivers will actually call you out. Or throw you out!
All bus lines on Ibiza

Here’s an overview of all bus lines including the stops on Ibiza. The last ones, starting with an N, are nightbusses and are focused on clubs and party destinations. I added all the stops to the list so you know exactly where the buses are going to.
In general, the south of the island is the busiest and most well connect part. I always have a triangle in my mind when I have to explain Ibiza: Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and San Antonio which is the busy area, and swap Ibiza Town with Portinaxt to get the quiet part. And the part with much less taxis and bus lines.
