Cala Nova stands out as a stunning beach in the northeast of Ibiza, close to the bustling Es Canar. What makes this beach truly unique is a beautiful wooden walkway that stretches from one end to the other. While the beach itself is quite long (approximately 200m), some parts are narrow. The bay boasts shallow, crystal-clear blue water, beautiful golden sand, and the sea gradually deepens, making it ideal for the little ones to play.
Crowd and Atmosphere
Secluded seekers, couples, families, and food enthusiasts frequent Cala Nova. The latter is drawn by the fantastic – and more than abundant – dining options! During the peak season, a cozy buzz envelops the area, with no loud music or DJs. Feet in the sand, drink in hand, pure enjoyment! With the right wind, Cala Nova is one of the few beaches with decent waves, making it popular among surfers on the island.
Food & Drinks
Most of you may be familiar with Cala Nova through the renowned restaurant/beach clubs Aiyanna and Atzaró Beach. However, you’ll also find L’Amorigen, a more ‘hippie’ beach bar, a tiny chiringuito Can Colomaret, Restaurante Cala Nova, and Atzaró’s chiringuito right on the beach.
My preference leans towards Aiyanna and Atzaró Beach if, like me, you enjoy stylish and elaborate lunches or dinners. L’Amorigen, on the other hand, is my go-to for a casual drink or snack.
Yes, Cala Nova is a delightful spot, whether for a sun-kissed lunch or a moon-lit dinner – the choice is yours, vamos!
What Else?
Plenty of dining options, sun loungers, umbrellas, family-friendly atmosphere, and a relaxed vibe. Sunbeds on Cala Nova can be reserved through Aiyanna or Atzaró Beach, but note that the latter’s sunbeds are not directly on the beach. Cala Nova checks all the boxes, although I must admit, I rarely come here to sunbathe, but mainly… to eat!
Location
Situated in the northeast of Ibiza. Parking is available either next to Aiyanna or on the other side of the beach at the paid parking Cala Nova.
